LADIES OF COUNTRY REACT TO OSCARS
Viola Davis accepted the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 89th Academy Awards and the ladies of country loved it! Davis was honored for her work alongside Denzel Washington in the film Fences—a reprise of the role that won her a Tony Award on Broadway. In her speech she articulated the importance in storytelling and explained her mission to “exhume” the stories of the people who dreamed big.
Maren Morris was moved to tears:

Jana Kramer followed suit:
Jennifer Nettles said what we were all thinking:
Well, Viola Davis done kilt me. 😢— Jennifer Nettles (@JenniferNettles) February 27, 2017
Brandy Clark was moved by Viola's words on what it means to be an artist:
I think we all have similar feelings about these women and the art they create. It’s the little things like a song on the radio, isn’t it? Thank you for sharing your stories with us, ladies.
