Viola Davis accepted the Academy Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role at the 89th Academy Awards and the ladies of country loved it! Davis was honored for her work alongside Denzel Washington in the film Fences—a reprise of the role that won her a Tony Award on Broadway. In her speech she articulated the importance in storytelling and explained her mission to “exhume” the stories of the people who dreamed big.
